When the melt is released, the furnace contents are tapped into ladles. Additional treatments can be carried out in the ladle, such as magnesium treatment for ductile iron. Floating metal slag is also always removed (slag removal). The ladle must be emptied within a limited period of time (in order to respect the desired casting temperature).
