Laser welding

Waterschoot Metalworks provides laser welding for sheet metal in steel, stainless steel and aluminium. Laser welding is particularly suitable for thin sheet metal and enables fast, precise welds with limited heat input.

The concentrated heat input results in less distortion of the workpiece compared with many conventional welding processes. The weld seams are also fine and clean, which can significantly reduce grinding and finishing work. This makes laser welding particularly suitable for visible welds and components where dimensional accuracy and a clean finish are important.

We mainly process sheet material from 1 to 5 mm, depending on the material, joint and geometry. Steel, stainless steel and aluminium can all be welded.

Depending on the application, we can weld with or without filler wire. Our laser welding system is equipped with automatic wire feeding, allowing joints requiring filler material to be welded efficiently and consistently.

Laser welding can be combined with our other in-house processes. Components can be laser cut, bent, welded, finished and, if required, powder coated in our own workshop.
